Last Updated on August 31, 2020 by Fabrizio Van Marciano

Payhip is currently one of the best platforms for selling all kinds of digital products, including your eBooks, software, course access keys, and more. In this tutorial, I'll go through the steps you need to take to successfully sell your eBooks on Payhip.

If you're learning about Payhip for the first time in this post, I already provided an in-depth review of this e-commerce platform here.

Payhip (Affiliate link) is one of the most cost-effective platforms you can use to promote and sell any digital product. They are used by over 130,000 sellers all over the globe. I have been using Payhip myself since around 2017.

Let's look at just how cost effective Payhip really is -

The basic plan is completely free to use. You only get charged a 5% selling fee. There is also the PayPal or Stripe fee in addition to this.

So, for example, if you sell your eBook priced at $15.00, then 5% ($0.75) will be the Payhip transaction fee. Then you have PayPal's 5.4% transaction fee or Stripe's 2.9% transaction fee.

If the buyer uses PayPal to purchase your eBook, you would profit $13.48 estimate, after the fees.

Even on the free plan, you get access to all of the features of Payhip. You can host unlimited products and earn unlimited revenue.

My experience with using Payhip

As I mentioned earlier, I have been using Payhip since around 2016, and during that time I've hosted a few eBooks. One of which I've had some decent success with. My Ultimate Pro Blog Planner is hosted on Payhip, where I have set up a customized landing page including Payhip buttons.

I have nothing but positive words to say about Payhip. The company is run by an enthusiastic and passionate team and I hope they will continue to grow.

Payhip is very simple to use. There's nothing overly technical about using this platform, and the features, while very useful is somewhat necessary. You can check out my full review of Payhip here.

One of the notable features of Payhip is it's membership tools. Again, I wrote a detailed post, including a video, about this specific feature that you can check out here.

Write a little something about yourself as the eBook or product author. Don't just leave it blank. Next, you need to come up with a unique name for your store. Again, this can be your own name, your blog's name, or company name.

Setup Your Checkout

Before you can begin adding your first eBook to sell, the next thing I'd recommend doing is setting up your checkout. From the dashboard, simply click on the 'Setup Checkout' option tab. A pop-up will appear to confirm you want to set this up.

Next, under the 'payment details' tab, link your PayPal account. If you're feeling up to it, connect your Stripe account too. If you already have either a PayPal or Stripe account, the steps are pretty straight forward. If you don't have either, you'll have to do some extra work, such as signing up for PayPal or Stripe.

Before you hit save, don't forget to add a bank statement description. This is for anyone who pays for your eBook by credit or debit card, they can reference it with your store. They will be able to recognize it on their bank statement as the eBook they purchased from you. Something like your product or store name should do it.
