So as from today Monday the 18th January 2016, I’m taking a small break from blogging!
But not from business! Business will continue as usual.
In fact I’ll still be communicating and working with clients on various web design and graphic design projects, but as far as creating new blog content is concerned I won’t be doing much of it until early April.
At the moment I’m writing a post a week, but as from now until April I’ll only be doing a few posts each month.
Just hear me out.
I know what most of you will probably be thinking, well surely Fabrizio you’ve had a long enough break over the Christmas holidays?
Well yes I did, but most of that time wasn’t spent on doing business or working online, it was spent with family and friends.
The reason why I’m taking a break from blogging is so that I can work on the “behind the scenes” stuff. Both on my business and on myself!
Asides from client projects, there’s a lot of things I need to do to the Magnet4Blogging site and the content as well. I’d like to think of taking this break as “pit stopping”.
So let me share with you some things that will be going on in the back end whilst I’m not writing so much.
1. Finalising Magnet4Blogging’s Epic Design
I’ve had awesome feedback about the site design, but instead of constantly tweaking parts of this site as I’m going along, I really want to complete the design and layout of Magnet4Blogging once and for all.
Because I don’t want to be touching it again after it’s complete. Being a web designer for me means I’m always tempted to change something on the site, so I want to get it done and dusted before April.
With that said there’s quite a few pages that needs updating, mainly for achieving website formatting consistency.
Once this is done I can relax for at least a year or so and not have to keep wasting my time tweaking the design (well that’s the plan anyway).
2. Content Updates & Upgrades
A lot of the content on Magnet4Blogging is up to date thankfully, I tend to publish mainly evergreen content if there is such a thing.
But there’s a small handful of review articles and how to articles that I want to update and refresh, plus add some content upgrades to those posts as well.
In addition to this there’s a few posts that could do with either being removed entirely, or no-indexed.
I also want to upgrade some of the video content, images and graphics on this site, including the featured images in my most popular blog posts.
I think this is the area that will probably take most of my time.
3. New Shop And Updated Services
In April I’m launching a new designed shop page on Magnet4Blogging, with a host of digital products that I’ve been working on, including some eBooks and some new Thrive Content Builder templates that I’m releasing.
I also have some sales funnel pages that I need to build and test for my eBook and upcoming course 🙂
The page for my website and graphic design services also needs updating and refreshing.
4. Site Audit
Next month (February 2016) a friend of mine will be helping me to audit the site, so that I can look to see where I can make even more improvements, mainly for better site user experience, and some SEO.
My site audit will include:
- Branding and design, which I already talked about.
- Usability, site performance.
- Content, again which I already discussed.
- Some on-page SEO.
- Social Media.
5. Everywhere Else Online
Of course not all the things I want to do or improve on is focused around my website.
I also want to update all the cover photos and marketing messages on my social media profiles, including my LinkedIn profile, Facebook and Twitter page.
My YouTube channel needs re-organising, rebranding and some new videos added as well.
Last but not least, the time I’ll be taking off from blog writing will also be used to improve myself, and my skill-set.
I’ve not been paying that much attention to my health and wellbeing as of late, so I really need to focus on that one 🙂
The only way I’m going to become better and smarter at running my business online, is if I’m in better shape and good health. I love this quote by Steve Jobs:
I also recently enrolled in an advanced web design course and iOS 9 application developer course. Not that I’m likely to complete both of these by April, but I would like to get as much as I can done of them.
I really want to get things right this year, and I’m happy to take this break and work on the finer “behind the scenes” details to improve myself and my business.
So peeps, I’ll still be very much active online. I’ll be promoting and sharing the posts that have been updated and refreshed as I go along.
I’ll still be responding to comments and leaving comments on my favourite blogs and everything else.
I’ll still be active on social media.
Once again I’m only taking a short break from writing regularly like I have been. You’ll still get 2 posts from me in February and 2 posts in March. Come April I’lll be back writing 1 to 2 posts per week again.
Right with that being said, I’d better get off and make a start, there’s lots to do.
